Visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs T. J. Coulter, Fairburns. is Mrs A. Morgan, whose husband is managing director of the Australian firm, the Morgan Steel Construction Company. Mrs Morgan was born and educated in the Fairburns district, while Mr Morgan was educated at Kaingaroa. another Far Northern centre. Mrs Morgan was warmly welcomed by residents at a dance in tire FairburnsKaiaka Hall on Friday night. Mr C. E. Spanhake, following army and R.N.Z.A.F. service, has been appointed physical education instructor to Far Northern schools, with headquarters at Kaitaia and operating throughout the Mangonui County.

Miss P. Garrey, formerly of the Wellington district, has been appointed headmistress of the Manukau native school, near Herekino. and is assisted by Miss M. Puitai, of Ahipara. Both are acting in a relieving capacity.

Mr Jack Adam. Social Security officer in Kaikohe, has been transferred to Pukekohe. He will leave this week. Mr Adam was the guest of honour at an informal gathering of Kaikohe Golf Club members last week, when the president (Mr P. -J. Coyne) made him a presentation. Mr Adam has been club secretary for two years past. He will be missed also by the local A.T.C. Flight, which he organised and led from its inception early last year.
