Presbyterial Association Meeting
The first meeting for 1946 of the Presbyterhil Association of North Auckland was held in the Whangarei Presbyterian Hall this week, the newly-elected president (Mrs S. Rushbrook, of Matarau) being in the chair. Eleven branches answered the roll call. A special welcome was given to two new members, Mrs A. J. Scarrow. of Dargaville, and Mrs Graham, of Kaitaia, the latter having travelled more than 120 miles to be present, and representing the most northerly parish of the church. A highlight was the handing to the treasurer by the stamp secretary of a cheque for £26, being proceeds from the recent sale of many thousands of used. stamps. These funds are used for mission work.
A presentation of books was made to Mrs Scott, of Whangarei. in appreciation of her hospitality for many years in supervising the provision of morning tea for visiting delegates to both P.A. and Presbytery meetings. An interesting account of her work in the former charge of the Pukemiro district was given by Mrs Brierly. of Kamo. Vocal solos were contributed by Mrs F. Auld. •
