Mr H. A. Timbers, who has been visiting Auckland, has returned to Kaitaia. . , . Inspector E. J. Carroll has arrived in Whangarei and taken over charge of the Northland police district, replacing Inspector J. Fox who has left on transfer to Nelson.
Dr. W. McKechnie has resumed duty as medical superintendent of the Mangonui County Public Hospital at Kaitaia, following treatment in an Auckland hospital and eonvalescence at Rotorua. , The death has occurred in Dublin of General Eoin O’Dufy, aged 52, engineer and architect. An I.R.A. member, he was G.O.C. of Eire forces 1924-25, and organised and led the Irish Brigade which fought on the side of General Franco.
