Martin is acting statiomnastcr at Whangarei pending an appointment being made in replacement of Mr. G. McNeil, who has retired, and who left Whangarei. today with Mrs. McNeil for Auckland. The Mayor of Whangarei (Mr. W. Jones) and the town clerk (Mr. L. O. Hall) were appointed by the borough council last night us its representatives at the conference of the Municipal Association in November. The town clerk was granted leave to attend the annual mooting and conference of the New Zealand Institute of Town Clerks in Wellington the preceding day.
