Battle For Distribution
WASHINGTON, Feb. 20.
The Washington correspondent of the “New York Times” states that Lieut-General Somervell, Army Supply Chief, after his return from an inspection trip of all war theatres, told the Press that the war had entered a new phase. At first it was a battle for production. Now it is a battle for distribution.
Questioned about Congressional criticism that an army of 7,500,000 cannot be sent overseas or supplied, Lieut-General Somervell replied: “It can be done.”
