Delay In Willow Run Production
NEW YORK. February 20
The “New York Times” Detroit, correspondent. states that after investigating the Willow Run plant members of the Senatorial Truman Committee declared that manpower shortage and changes in design were responsible for deficiency in production but vast improvements had been achieved since a year ago.
Presidenr Edsel Ford told the senators that over 10.000 employees had left the plant since the summer of 1942, 5000 of whom had joined the armed forces. Fr Ford expects that the plant, which at present is employing 30,000. will put our. 20 bombers daily before the end of the year.
