Whangarei A.T.C. Inspected

Cadets of No. 2D Squadron of the Whangarei Air Training Corps paraded before the Commandant of the Air Training Corps (Wing-Commander Nichclis) at the High School yesterday. The cadets performed a number of military exercises and finally marched past Wing-Commander Nicholls, who took the salute. Later he addressed the cadets and complimented them on the keenness with which thev had paraded. He was pleased, he stated, to see a comparatively young squadron put on such a good performance.

The cadets were handicapped at the moment, because of lack of uniforms, he continued, but these were now on their way and in the near future the squadron would be fully equipped. A hold-up had been experienced because of an unusual demand on uniforms for the Air Force. - The club-rooms in James Street, finished except for furnishing, would soon be open to the cadets, who could visit them when .they liked.

Wing-Comrnander Nicfjoli.s then outlined the growth of the Air Force and the work of the Air Training Corps, giving an address similar to that he delivered at the Rotary Club luncheon.' Concluding he said that, cadets should all be proud to belong to this organisation, which was training the youth of today to take their part in the present world-wide struggle,
