No More H.S. Buildings For Hospital
Unless unforeseen events occur, no further buildings at the Whangarei High School will be taken over for hospital purposes. The chairman of the Whangarei Hospital Board (Mr. J. A. S. Maclvay) today made the following statement: "After having conferred with the Director-General of Health last evening. I am pleased to be able to say that it is as certain as anything is certain in wartime that no part of the High School building's or grounds other than those already under control of the hospital hoard will he used for hospital purposes. "However, adequate provision will be made for the hospital treatment of soldiers on a basis satisfactory to this district. Details of the scheme have not yet been finalised and cannot he released at the moment."
