A land agent, William John Spratt, aged 53, pleaded guilty in the magistrate’s Court to 18 summary charges of failing to account for trust moneys, totalling £1927. Evidence was heard on a charge of obtaining £IOOO by false pretences. Detective Halcrow said Spratt surrendered himself to the police on August 1. admitting the theft of trust moneys’. The case was adjourned until today.
