Mrs. Jeffs, of Whangarei, who is recovering from a recent illness, is the guest of ner niece, Mrs. L. Dyer. Mis. A. Morgan is progressing in hospital. Mrs. J. Steedman was the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Cuff, of Donald Street, for the week-end. A postcard from Captain Cecil Wright, received by his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. L. Wright, states that he is a prisoner of war in Germany and is well. It adds that it is useless for his parents to send him letters until they receive the address of where he is confined. As a result of money raised in Otaika by the Otaika patriotic sub-committee during the last three months, patriotic funds have benefited to the extent of | £42/3/2, as follows; Proceeds of dance and raffles, etc..
