Axis Supplies To N. Africa Increase
LONDON, Sept. 4. The increasing toll of Axis supplies to Libya taken by British submarines is evidence of the growing volume of Axis traffic, says the naval correspondent of “The Times”. It appears that in spite of heavy losses, a large proportion of this traffic must be getting through. The almost daily attacks on the harbours of Tripoli and Benghazi presumably are necessary because they are constantly used as supply bases for the Axis forces in Libya.
