Kara On Top
Although the game was well contested, good combination was lacking by both Kara and Old Girls, the latter especially losing some splendid opportunities in the circle. Taking the initiative from the start, Kara soon had Old Girls hard pressed, and from a bright movement E. Attwood netted. From the bully E. Attwood steered the ball right into the circle, and although the shot at goal was stopped by the goalie, Miss Attwood, with a deft reverse stick stroke, recollected the ball to make the half-time score: Kara 2, Old Girls 0. Second Haif On resumption. Old Girls rallied and, with good combination, Miss E. Fraser took the ball from half-way and, beating the opposition, netted a beautiful goal. Undaunted, Kara came again and soon had Old Girls on Ihe defensive, where Miss J. McKegg found an opening and made Kara’s total three. Immediately after Miss F. Attwood netted to make the score Kara 4, Old Girls 1.
With the end in sight Old Girls came again, and Miss E. Fraser netted her second goal. However, the final whistle brought a good game to an end in Kara’s favour.—Kara 4, Old Girls 2. Messrs. B. R. Woolford and R. Nixey umpired.
