High School Surprise

Producing their best form to date. High School fully deserved their first victory at the expense of Hora Hora. One down at half-time, Hora Hora started the second spell with vigour, and although hard pressed at times, Miss S. Heke gave a safe display in the High School goal, stopping what seemed impossible shots. Both teams scored two goals in the second spell, High School hanging on tenaciously to win by th,e odd goal in five. For School, Misses E. Beasley (2) and M. Frood scored, while for Hora Hora, Misses P. Alison and E. Richards netted. Messrs. N. Munro and J. J. Ashcroft refereed.

LADIES’ B WOOLWORTHS EASILY Three up at hr If time, Woolworths had little or no trouble in disposing of School, who, however, showed more to advantage in tlie second half, but could not reduce mo leeway. For Wr.oiworlht. Mrs. Lewis (4) and Miss P. Norris scored, while for School Miss N. Hannan scored, Messrs N. Munro and J. J. Ashcroft controlled the game. A HOLLOW VICTORY Travelling to Hikurangi, Old Girls had to give way to a more experienced team. With four goals down at half time. Old Girls tried bustling tactics in the second spell, but could not penetrate a stubborn defence. Hikurangi eventually ran out winners by eight goals to nil. For the winners Misses R. Gibson <3), F. Cunningham (3), J. Wilson and R. Naffki netted. Messrs H. Patterson and D. Thomson refereed. UNITED DOWNED Playing better hockey all round, Hora Hora fully deserved their victory over United. United played well at times, but poor following up by the forwards lost them many chances. For Hora Hora, Misses E. Pitman (3) and R. Dobson netted. Messrs. R. Nixey and G. A. R. McKoj umpired.
