U.S. Army, Navy Share Planes With Britain

WASHINGTON, May 22

The Secretary for the Navy (Colonel Knox) announced that the Navy has received 600 first-line war planes in the last 10 months, and an equal number was exported to Britain in accordance with the custom of sharing' the navy’s intake of war planes with Britain.

Discussing the increase in production, Colonel Knox said that in the first four months of the last year the navy' had received 79 war planes, and in the first four months of 1941 it had received 996. These figures did not include army war planes, but the army also shared with Britain.
