British Unemployed Substantially Reduced

The number of men and boys registered at the employment exchanges in Great Britain as wholly unemployed at April 21 was 157,239, a decrease of 15,421 compared with March 17, and of 402,859, compared with April 15, 1940, says the British Official Wireless.

From the total, 36,915 have been classified by the interviewing panels as unsuitable for ordinary industrial employment. Corresponding figures for women and girls at April 21 were 161,533 wholly unemployed.
