British Steamer Shelled By Submarine
(Received 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 25. The Mackay radio picked up a message at 7.41 a.m. from the British vessel Everleigh (5222 tons), stating that she was being shelled by a submarine 58 degrees 36 minutes north, 21 degrees 58 minutes west, 600 miles north-west of Ireland.
