Ruawai, Northern Wairoa Dairy Zoning
[Special to "Northern Advocate”] , DARGAVILLE, This Day.
In response to a petition for an alteration of dairy zoning areas, the deputy chairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture (Sir Francis Frazer) visited Dargaville last week and held a meeting of representatives of the Northern Wairoa and Ruawai Dairy Companies and supplies in the Tangaihi, Repia, and Tikinui areas. The areas in question were originally zoned to the Northern Wairoa Company, but about three years ago it was represented to the , commission that a majority of the suppliers desired to be zoned to the Ruawai Company. At the conclusion of a general discussion a show of hands resulted in a majority of those present favouring the continuance of the present zoning boundaries. However, as all the suppliers in the areas concerned were not present at the meeting, the chairman indicated that the commission would conduct a postal ballot, by means of which every supplier would be able to record his vote after having had an opportunity of fully considering the points discussed.
