Dairyman Killed In Collision

[Special to ’‘Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND, This Day. An elderly passenger in a light milk delivery van was fatally injured when the van struck the back of a stationary lorry on the Great North Road last night. The victim was Mr William James Smith, dairyman, of Rirnu Street, New Lynn. The van was driven by Mr Smiths son, Mr Robert Crawford Smith, and was travelling to the city with a load of milk cans. Mr Smith, senior, suffered injuries to the head and chest, and died within a few minutes before an ambulance could arrive from the city.
