Panguru
Whole-hear:ecl interest was taken in the formation of a Maori sub-centre of the Red Cross formed at Panguru on Saturday. Mrs Bassett, the president, and Mrs A. J. Edwards, the secretary, of the Kaikohe sub-centre of the Red Cross, assisted with this new move and their visit to Panguru proved quite successful. Mr J. Blain, a chief of one of the tribes, was elected president. Mrs Bassett and Mrs Edwards also visited the Kohukohu sub-centre, and found all members making much progress with their efforts.
