Recruiting Steady Among North Maoris

Northland Maoris are responding steadily in enlistment for the Maori Battalion. The total l'n the Northland area is now 678. Additional enlistments received by the Maori recruiting officer (Mr T. T. Puriri) at the Whangarei Army Office are:— A. Wafpouri (Parenga), D. Waipouri (Parenga), K. Heke (Hoteo), M. Rapira (Kohukohu), G. Watene (Herekino), W. Clarke (Pamapuria), J. Court (Waimate North), J. Mokene (Mangamuka), R. Rahena (Mangarnuka).
