196 Aucklanders Leave For Camp
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day. A total of 196 recruits —65 for Ngaruawahia and the rest for Papakura—left the Drill Hall this morning, and marched through Queen Street prior to entraining. These men form the Second Echelon “pool,” which is to be drawn upon to make up any shortage in the Second Echelon.
There is always a certain amount of “wastage,” while troops are in training, but if they are not required, they will form a nucleus for the Third Echelon.
