Keen Demand On ’Change Today
[Special to “Northern Advocate”! AUCKLAND, This Day.
Led by Government stocks, which registered all-round advances at the last call yesterday and maintained their position, the Auckland Stock Exchange opened at the first call today with a keen demand embracing a large range of securities. A big list of sales was put through, and generally a buoyant tone was evident.
There were buyers for practically all issues of Government bonds and stocks, with very few sellers.
Among Dominion issues, New Zealand Refrigerating had business at 19/9, a rise of 1/9. Activity was well maintained at the neon call, most of the sales * being made at late rates.
