Henneberry To Meet Richards For Empire Title
NEW YORK, November 28. Mr Sheldon, manager of Fred Henneberry, has accepted an Australian proposal that his charge meet Ron. Richards for the British Empire middleweight title. The proposed match at Madison Square Garden between Henneberry and Ben Brown for December 20 has been cancelled. . Armed with contracts as Mr “Mike ’ Jacobs, ne\dly appointed Australian rep., Mr Sheldon, will sail by the Mariposa on December 5, and it will be his duty to bring the Empire winner to New York for a world middleweight title match. Mr Jacobs urged Henneberry to remain here, but his manager was not willing to forego an Empire contest. Thereupon the American promoter decided to offer the Empire winner a match with Coferino Garcia, or his successor.
