German Consul In N.Z. Receives Passport

[Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 WELLINGTON, This Day.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, stated yesterday that an official call had been made on the German Consul, Herr E. Ramm, yesterday morning, and Herr Ramm’s passport had been formally returned to him. The consul was informed that his interests would be protected while he was here, and everything would be done to facilitate his departure from New Zealand.

The submarine Thetis has been lowed to a position off Anglesea, and is lying in 37 feet of water. The lifting operations are now finished, and the concluding stage of the work comprises the draining of the vessel to make her fit to be towed to dry dock.
