Auckland Team Too Strong For Whangarei
A Whangarei junior team was not strong enough to withstand the tactics of the Otahuhu (Auckland) team in the game at Kensington Park and was beaten by 18 points to seven. Whangarei showed nice form at the beginning of the game when Muir kicked a field goal and scored an. unconverted try, but Otahuhu then took the ascendancy and the home team could not add to its score. Currie. the best forward on the ground, scored a brilliant try shortly after the interval to give Otahuhu its first points and Moyle dropped a goal to even the scores.
Otahuhu broke away and Ryan snapped up to score, while Currie registered another great try which Tanner converted. Tanner was also successful with a penalty goal, Otahuhu scoring a comfortable victory.
