Coach And Motor Body Apprentices
[.Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day. Conditions governing the employment of apprentices in the coach and motor body industry in the Northern Industrial District arc embodied in an order issued by Mr J. A. Gilmour, Industrial Magistrate. The minimum wages for apprentices starting work under 18 years of age will Ido 15/- a week for the first six months, 19/- for the second, £1 3/for the third, £ 1 7 - for the fourth, £1 12, - for the fifth. £1 17 '- for the sixth. £2 2/6 for the seventh. £2 7/6 for the .eighth, £2 15/- for the ninth and £3 5/- for the tenth.
Apprentices starting over the age of 18 will be paid £1 10/- for the first six months, with six-monthly increases of 5/- a week, rising to £3 15 '-.
