Northern Steamship Co.’s Annual Meeting
[Special to “Northern Advocate ’M AUCKLAND, Friday. The annual meeting of shareholders of the Northern Steam Ship Company was held to-day, when the balancesheet and report, details of which have been published in the “Advocate," were adopted. In the course of his annual report, the chairman of directors, Sir Ernest Davis, said that the company throughout the year had made every effort to preserve its assets and' to increase the efficiency of its fleet. The acquisition of the motor vessel Kapiti added to the fleet a staunch and handy vessel, which was now doing good work in the Whangarei trade. Throughout the year neither time nor effort had been spared by the management in its endeavour to promote business, and the directors placed on record their high appreciation of the services in such regard performed by the general manager and the members of his staff, ashore and afloat. The retiring directors—Messrs. E. Anderson, A. J. Hutchinson and E. W. Evans —were re-elected, and the auditor, Mr G. O’Halloran, was reappointed.
