Methodist Men's Friendly Group At Fairburns

Another successful and well attended meeting of the monthly “Men’s Friendly Group” was held in the Methodist Hall, Fairburns, on Saturday evening.

Mr W. Metcalfe presided. The subject for the evening was “Whether heredity or environment plays the larger part in life.” Rev. H. Whitfield introduced the subject and gave not only his own opinion and observations, but considered opinions of many of the world’s leading medical men and psychologists, as to which had the greater influence in life. A very animated discussion followed. At the conclusion of the discussion, the general opinion seemed to be that environment had the greater influence .in life. After a very enjoyable and profitable meeting, a vote of thanks was accorded to Rev. H. Whitfield and to the chairman for presiding. At the conclusion supper was enjoyed before .a cosy fire.
