Minister And State Kauri Forests

KAWAKAWA, This Day

According to a letter received by the Bay County Council at its monthly meeting yesterday from the secretary of the North Auckland Counties’ Association, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, acting Commissioner of State Forests, is not able to arrange a tour of Northland.

He had been invited by the Counties’ Association to visit the district to meet local body officials and Northland residents in connection with the retention of kauri forests.

Owing to official duties in Wellington Mr Armstrong has found it impossible to make the trip, but he intends to place the matter before his colleague, the Hon. F. Langstone, Minister of Lands, as soon as he retjurns from abroad.
