Northland Scouts And The Jamboree

Judging by present indications, Northland-will be well represented at the Boy Scouts Jamboree at the Centennial Exhibition. Already 61 scouts from various districts have signified their intention to go to Wellington, and it is expected that the total number will be between 75 and 80. These will come from Whangarei, Whangaruru, Russell, Kawakawa and Kerikeri. The Whangaruru scouts at the moment are working at high pressure to raise funds. They have organised, among other things, a “Bring and Buy,” and have asked the Northland Scout Commissioner, Mr. Frank Coleman, of 95 Kamo Road, to solicit gifts of clothing in any state of repair for the sale. Mr. Coleman, who hopes that the public will, support the enthusiastic Maori scouts, will be glad to send percels to Whangaruru.
