Ohaeawai Backs Outclass Motatau
Playing a solid game from start to finish, Ohaeawai’s defeat of Motatau was a popular one. The game was played at a fast pace throughout, and both fifteens produced willing and clean Rugby. Motatau had the benefit of a stronger pack, but Ohaeawai fielded an exceptionally fast and aggressive set
of backs, who kept things on the move
throughout
The game was evenly shared by both teams in the first spell so far as territory was concerned, and Ohaeawai s six points at the close of the first half came from penalties kicked by J. Repia and J. Edmunds. Shortly after the start of the second spell the Ohaeawai team had its opponents in - difficulties, and T, Edwards eventually went over the line to score the first try of the day. A further score was obtained for the victors when the pack went over as a body. The only points obtained by the Motatau team came from an excellent score obtained by its outstanding back, M. Kingi. Mr. P. Dare was the referee.
