A feature of the senior series in the Bay of Islands competition was the excellent game which resulted from the clashing of the Ohaeawai and Motatau teams at Ohaeawai. Results were: Seniors —Ohaeawai 12, Motatau 3; Otiria 3, drew with Kaikohe 3: Kawakawa 6, Ruataniwha 0. Juniors —Okaihau G, State Forest 0; Kaikohe A 14. Kaikohe B 0; Taumarere 12. Motatau 6; Opua 3, Maromaku 3.
