(Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 1. After being 2 up at the end of the first 36 holes, A. D. Locke (South Africa) beat A. R. Whitcombe (British open champion, 1938), 6 and 5, in the £ 500-aside golf match at Coombe Hill. Whitcombe was 1 up at the 45th hole, but thereafter he Avas constantly in trouble, and the game ended on the 67th green.
