Whangarei - Northern Wairoa Teams To Meet
Every year the meeting of the Whangarei and Northern Rugby representative teams provides football thrills for the spectators and this year's game, which will be played at Kensington Park tomorrow, promises to be no exception.
Two strong teams have been selected. Once .again Northern Wairoa will be represented by a strong j pack of forwards and a fast line of } backs. Back and forward, they will be well matched by Whangarei s elite, and unless indications are false a great game will be provided between the first and final whistles. Several, alterations have been made in the Whangarei team as originally selected. Tapper, selected as fullback. has removed to Hamilton, and will be replaced by Pomfrett. who has been displaying good form in that position for Hikurangi. Pomfrett is playing his first season in senior football and it will be interesting to see his performance in his initial senior representative match.
Owing to an 1 injury. Cunlifi'e will not be able to take his place among the forwards, which have now been rearranged. Morresey moving up to the front row. and McConnell, of Hikurang!, going in to lock. Ferguson, chosen as a reserve for-: word, is indisposed, and the emergency forwards will be Robison and Fletcher.
