Boxing And Wrestling Tournament Tonight

Territorials and local boxers and wrestlers will be associated in an interesting event at the camp this evening. On behalf of the troops, a boxing and wrestling tournament has been ‘arranged, and the public is cordially invited to attend. There is good talent in the camp, and six boxers and six wrestlers have been selected from, the Territorials to meet opponents from Whangarei in a series of bouts. As far as possible, contestants of equal weight and ability have been selected for each event, to make the contests of the utmost interest. Out-Door Ring. An out-door ring has been erected in front of the main stand, and will he floodlit for the occasion. Of special interest to lire Whangarei public will be the fact that associated willi the tournament is Mr Harry May, a Whangarei boxer who fought his way to win the welterweight championships of Aush’alia and New Zealand.

The committee in charge has worked in close co-operation with Mr Steve Hughes, Whangarei physical culture expert.

The tournament is limed to start at 7 o'clock.
