Mr John Lewis, has apparently gained one of the greatest victories of Ins carreer vvuii ino announcement that the soft coal deadlock has been broken and mines will probably resume on Monday, the majority of the.mine owners are expected to sign two*year agrcmenls permitting a “Union shop" in the vast industry.
Mr Lewis issued orders calling off the strike in the Appalachian region. Virginia, which produces 120,000.000 ions nC coal annually.
