Mechanised Demonstration At Kensington Park

New Zealand's newest military developments will be seen at Kensington Park tomorrow .

The annual camp of the First Composite Mounted Rifles will be thrown open to the public from 1 p.m., and a highly interesting feature will be the presence of the A. Squadron Fourth Motorised Mounted Rifles. The motorised unit, which is travelling northwards from Paeroa, and engages with the North Auckland Regiment at Wellsford today, is due to arrive in Whangarei shortly after noon tomorrow. Bren Gun Carriers. The squadron is equipped with the latest mechanised devices, including motor 'transport and two of the new Bren machine-guns mounted on mechanical carriers. These carriers resemble nothing so much as light tanks, and are capable of traversing rough open country. They will be seen in action at Kensington Park during the afternoon, probably at half past one. Another attraction during the afternoon will be the appearance of a Territorial Rugby football team in action against Hikurangi seniors. On Monday the mounted troops and the motorised squadron are to carry out extensive manoeuvres in which the efficiency of the modern equipment will bo thoroughly tested.
