Mangapai
The May meeting of the Mangapai Institute was well attended in the Mangapai Hall. Miss Holmes, the president, was in the chair, and Miss Eva Gulbransen, the new secretary, performed her duties capably. The roll call, “Maori jokes,” brought many amusing anecdotes. The competition, “jumbled New Zealand names,” was won by Mrs W. A. Thompson. A trading stall, with Mrs Parnell in charge, did brisk business. The hostesses were Mesdames Price, Watson and Lang. * * * *
