Duzevich-Juynovich

Large bowels of autumn shaded chrysanthemums and fern decorated St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kai-f taia, on Tuesday afternoon when Annie, daughter of, Mr and Mrs J. Juynovich, of Waihopo, was married to Steve, eldest son of Mr and Mrs T. Duzevich, of Awanui.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father McCormick,' while t(ie organist was Mrs Glynan. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory embossed velvet made with a cowl neck and tight-fitting sleeves trimmed in orange blossom and with a spray at the neck. She wore a beautiful veil with a halo coronet of orange blossom and carried a bouquet of cream chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids, Misses Olga Shroj, chief, Zoe Juynovich and Rita Kunecich, wore all-over lace frocks in blue, pink and green respectively, and trimmed with silver sprays and belts. The head dresses were coloured veils with silver trimming worn over the face. They carried bouquets of chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Edward Kunecich as best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs. Nicholas Duzevich and John Stanicich.

After the ceremony the breakfast was held at the Silver Grid dining rooms, where about 100 guests attended and the usual toasts honoured. Later, a dance was held at the Awanui hall. The bride’s mother wore a navy wool georgette frock with hat to tone and carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums. The bridegroom’s mother wore a smart suit of royal and blue embossed crepe with hat to tone and carried a bouquet of gold chrysanthemums.
