Quest For Palestine Peace Formula
(Received 1 p.m). LONDON, May 10.
Cabinet met at No. 10 Downing Street to consider the Peace Front progress, also the Palestine proposals, which will be published in a White Paper next week. Dr. Weizmann, Zionist leader, will arrive in London tonight from Palestine. It is likely that he will make a last-minute effort for the postponement of the White Paper until Zionist objections 'are further considered.
Terrorists Not A Happy Party
LONDON, May 9. Reports continue to reach interested quarters in London from Damascus which reveal serious dissension between the Palestine terrorist leaders and the Rebel Committee there. The disputes are principally about funds, which the terrorist leaders contend are being employed by members of the committee for their own use.
Seven of the gang leaders are stated to have decided to attempt to return to Palestine for the purpose of collecting money themselves. For example, Mobil Sawati, Abdul Razzak’s henchman, who is in Trans-Jordan, openly admitted these differences recently, and said that while he had no interest in the rebellion as a national movement, he intended to return to collect as much money as posible for himself. Abdul Khader Husseini is reliably reported to have made demands for money from a number of villages, including Beitunya and Subaher.
