Derailed Trucks Block Main Trunk

[Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 HAMILTON, This Day.

Three trucks were derailed about 50 yards north of Te Kauwhata railway station at 4.30 this morning, when an air brake coupling on the TaneatuaAuckland goods train broke. Although several trucks which were carrying stock were fairly extensively damaged, no stock was injured. The line was blocked for about two hours, but no serious dislocation to rail traffic was caused, and the total damage was only slight. The main line was blocked for about two hours as a result of the derailment. The New Plymouth express was delayed for two hours at Rangiriri station, while the early Wellington express was held up at Ohinewai for a similar period.
