Not Before September: Tasman Air Service
f Special to “Northern Advocate’’] WELLINGTON. This Day. The transtasman air service is unlikely to begin until September. This was made clear by the Post-master-General. the Hon. F. Jones, whose attention was called to an Auckland statement that the flying boats were ready in England, but the inauguration of the service depended on the completion of the Auckland base facilities.
“This is not the deciding factor. The New Zealand terminal and other facilities will all be ready in June,” said Mr Jones, “but we are informed by Australia that the Rose Bay terminal, and the radio facilities for the transtasman service at Norfolk Island, cannot be ready until September.”
