The Bay of Islands Hospital had a particularly busy month during March.

Dr. G. J. Frengley, medical superintendent, reported to the board meeting at Kawakawa that 31 patients were still In hospital at the end of the month.

Eighty-three admissions were reported, the daily average number of patients being 34.51. There were two deaths in the institution during March. Maternity cases admitted numbered 11, and babies born, nine. Ten major and 35 minor operations were conducted and 43 anesthetics administered.

Forty-four X-ray photographs were taken, this number constituting a . record fcr any month since the plant was installed.
