Kaitaia Dairy Production Down
During February there was an output loss of about seven tons at the Kaitaia Dairy Company as compared with last year’s figures. For the first seven days in March shows a further decline and the loss is now averaging one ton per day. In February 227 tons Were produced, as against 235 tons in February last year.
So far this season 1654 tons have been made, comparing with 1679 tons for the same period last year, a decrease of 24 tons, or 1.45 per cent. Advance payments for February supply at 1/24 per lb. will amount to £25,109 as against £21,929 for February of last Reason, l/0£ was paid out for finest grade.
For the eight months of the present season, £181,689 has been paid out, as compared with £157,533 for the corresponding period last year. During the month shipments totalled 10,523 boxes, graded on ail average of 94.4 points. Gream grading percentages for the month were: Finest, 83.48 per cent; 'first, 14.74 per cent; second, 1.78 per cent.
