Physical Welfare Ball

The Criterion Theatre was not bedecked with streamers or greenery on Tuesday evening last, but that did not

detract from the attraction of the Physical Fitness Ball. Admirably conducted, the event drew a large crowd.

Proceeds were towards a fund for the purchasing of equipment for a gymnasium in Hikuhangi.

About £2O was taken at the door.

The programme included a Lambeth Walk Statue Competition, prizes going to Miss D. Boswell and Mr C. Gibson.

Music was supplied by the Hikurangi Orchestra, .under the leadership of Mrs H. H. Smith. Messrs. W. Cossill and F. O’Call'aghan were M.C.’s.
