Mr. E. A. Harrison, Chairman Of Sports Committee
Mr E. A. Harrison has been appointed chairman of the Whangarei Sub-Zone A 5 sporting events subcommittee of the Centennial organisation.
He was formally elected at a meeting of the committee last night. Several tentative suggestions for conduct of the sports side of the Centennial celebrations in Whangarei and. district were made, one being that the swimming, cruising and rowing clubs should combine for a grand fullday aquatic event. Another suggestion was that the bowling and croquet clubs should combine for a two-day tournament. These matters will be discussed more fully when the committee meets again next week.
