QUARTERLY dividend at the unchanged rate of 2 per cent, has been declared by the directors of the British Tobacco Company, Ltd., according to advice received by the Stock Exchange Association. * 4: 4! 4s W HILE working on a school ground improvement scheme at Inglewood yesterday afternoon, Sydney Richards, aged 59, a widower, of Inglewood, was struck by a rock, and died half-an-hour af|er his admission to hospital. He was wotking at the foot of a face about 12 feel, 'high, and, without warning, a large'vpiece of rock, estimated to weigh about eight or ten cwt., broke off and fell on him. r • • * * ; A T the annual meeting of the Stock Exchange Association yesterday, Mr Harman Reeves, of Dunedin, was elected president, Mr H. Kitchen having resigned after three years’ service. The meeting expressed the highest appreciation of his work on behalf of the association. Mr P. C.
