NEW YORK, January 22,

In a copyright message to the North American Newspaper Alliance from the Wyatt Earp which is making for Hobart from the Antarctic to obtain treatment for an injury received by Mr Liavaag, the chief officer, Mr Lincoln Ellsworth says:—

a terrific battle in heavy pack ice we have broken through and are now ploughing toward Hobart through a grejj fog-laden sea.

'“Tor five days, we have rammed, jammed, backed and turned through over 150 miles of ice.

“Mr Liayaag is comfortable and there are no complications, but an operation in Hobart is urgently necessary.
