“Last September,” said II Duce, speaking at a prize distribution in connection with the annual wheat crop competition, “I stated that Fascism’s professional adversaries were too stupid to be dangerous. “I reaffirm this in the most explicit terms.
“Were I to read to you the contents of the speeches and articles containing childish prophecies, absurd lies, and ridiculous hopes, which Fascism’s enemies diffuse about Italy, I would make you laugh so loud and long that in spite of the barrier of the Alps, many windows in a metropolis beyond our frontiers would be shattered.”
