( Mrs K. Petrie has been charged ■ with manslauguhter in the Lyons court, France, as a result of the death of Major R. Calvert Empson, the Australian-born journalist. Major Empson was covering the Monto Carlo motor rally for Allied Newspapers, when the car in which he w*as travelling crashed into a lorry at the cross-roads at Amb'prieu-en-Bugey. He was killed instantly Mrs Petrie, who was driving the car was seriously injured and was taken to hospital.
